Lady Sting Softball: First Game of the Season!

It is an understatement to say that softball season started a bit late this year. Last year, our beloved coach, Virge Ramos, announced his retirement from his position in order to focus on his own passions and on his family life. We frantically looked for a new coach to fill in the position, but eventually, Tamara Karcher came to save us. We were worried that the late start would hinder our ability to perform well at the start of the season. I was especially worried because I was coming into this season with a starting position at shortstop. At the beginning of today's game, I was very nervous––scared that if we lost today, the blame would fall on me. I told myself that that was irrational thinking, but it still didn't stop me from my anxiety.

Luckily, Lady Sting pulled through today with a 10 to 8 win against Queen Vocational and Technical High School!

Congratulations Lady Sting!

[Below]: Earlier this year, we held our annual Lady Sting Flapjack Fundraiser, where we raise most of the money to help purchase new equipment and 'Sting Wear' throughout the season. Fortunately, it was a big success (even though I wasn't able to make it in end-of-the-event picture).
